  GRE Test Schedule: The GRE is a computer-based test that can be scheduled by appointment.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a multiple choice exam of nearly four hours in length, that measures abstract thinking skills both verbally, quantitatively (math) and with analytical writing (essay) as well.  Although the GRE has an abundant amount of critics, it is still required for entry to many American graduate schools.  The test was changed slightly in 2007 to reflect a smaller emphasis on vocabulary and a greater emphasis on critical reasoning.  The changes include slightly more difficult section text completion questions in the verbal section.  The new questions will have multiple blanks within a reading passage with answers drawn from separate multiple-choice lists.  The changes in the quantitative part now include answers not drawn from multiple-choice pick lists, but rather requiring the student to enter their answer directly into a text box.  Slight changes in the GRE are expected to be implemented continuously over time.
